Description

Looking into future displays, it would be nice to have a Tweaks option to enable all frame drawing functions to double their pixel width from 1 to 2. Single pixel lines are too faint on 4K UltraHD and higher DPI displays

You can also see clearly here the #44 window gadget bug (currently 1 pxl offset)
And are the default images limited in width? On larger gadgets they can be wider (more proportional)

Also I have remembered we have a frame setting 1:1, 1:2 , Auto, but no 2:1 setting.
Not that there is much of use for it, but why not? and there we can add 2:2 setting for hi dpi screens.

There will be no such an enhancement for MUI 3.9. MUI 3.9 only exists to fix all the known bugs of MUI 3.8, nothing more. Perhaps there will be MUI4 for AmigaOS3 at some day, which offers custom bitmap frames of arbitrary size.

Even if MUI would offer such frames the window frames would still keep the same old thin dimensions which would not fit the window contents.

The window frames can be patched by VP, but that does not matter.
I am a bit amazed with your attitude of fixing and at the same time braking things and not supporting old stuff. Currently it feels like we have a big evolution of MUI, not a fix of 3.8. In my respect a fix would have been 3.9 (like 2005) plus a few new things added. And 4.0 would have been a major change (like MUI 2.x - 3.x change) And not a complete overhaul that is happening now.

This is just…. your opinion. So again, it is up to us to decide what is important for MUI 3.9 and what not so please accept that and don't start political discussions here. If you have technical concerns / bugs and enhancement requests that's fine. But if we decide not to implement / fix something which you feel is wrong you still have to accept it and try to convince us with technical arguments and not with your vision or how it should be in your opinion.

Where does Amiga Wave Coloured.jpg comes from ? I never had it, and it's nowhere in the config. (big screenshot) And obviously it has no effect, but why it's there?

comment:7 Changed 6 years ago by Thore Böckelmann

That is just a hardcoded file name, nothing more. I used that file name for testing purposes. It is really nothing you need to worry about.

In 3681:

  • Backgroundadjust.c: changed the default pattern file name to something which exists in every MUI standard installation. This refs #65.
