Description

Analysis

At the moment AISS images are fixed to be only at 24x24 as a size, however for these images in menu some users prefer a smaller dimension such 16x16 in order to save space or just because it looks better

Enhancement recommendation

Add another option in order to make AISS images resizable on the fly, in general we should have atleast two basic sizes (16*16 and 24*24) when 16*16 could be the default value

Of course beside these 2 choice would be nice to have also the possibility to choose any other dimension

Image scaling turned out to be easier than I thought initially.

I will implement 4 possible:

  • none (display no images at all)
  • 16px
  • 24px (no scaling at all, unless AISS defaults to some other size than 24 one day)
  • automatic (match font height)

The default will be 24px for AmigaOS4 and automatic for AmigaOS3. The reason is that AmigaOS4 most probably runs on machines using high resolutions while AmigaOS3 most probably runs on low resolution screens. The option can be configured by anybody, even without a key file.

In 6394:

  • Popmenu.c, Imagespace.c: implemented scaling of images. This makes it possible to display the AISS images in popup menus in other sizes than the original size. This closes #396.
